How fees work
Insurance we work with
We are out of network, so we don't bill health plans directly. Some plans reimburse acupuncture when you send in a receipt, and others don't cover it. Ask your plan, and ask us if you would like help with the questions.
Employer and marketplace plans: ask whether they reimburse acupuncture
Most PPO plans: check the benefit before you book
If you pay yourself
Most people pay at the time of the visit. The fee depends on the length of the visit and on any add-on you choose, and you hear it before your first needle. Elnora can tell you by phone or text before you book. HSA and FSA cards can often be used: ask your plan administrator. If cost is a worry, ask about reduced-fee visits.
Receipts for reimbursement
After every visit we give you an itemized receipt, called a superbill, that your plan may reimburse in part, and your plan decides. Before you send it in, ask your plan:
Is there an acupuncture benefit?
How many visits does it allow?
Is there a copay or a deductible?
Do I need a referral?
An estimate in advance
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to a good faith estimate of what your care will cost before you start. We give you one in writing when you book. If the final bill is $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.
Checking your benefits
Because we are out of network, we can't check your benefits for you. Call your plan before your first visit and ask the questions above.
What the first visit includes
A first visit takes about 75 minutes: a conversation, a treatment and a plan. Its fee depends on that length and on any add-on you choose, and you hear it before you book.
Questions about cost?
Call or text the front room. We will tell you what a visit costs before you book.
