Care
Moxibustion
Gentle warmth from smoldering mugwort, held near a point and never touching the skin.
Mugwort is a soft, silvery plant that smolders slowly and gives off a steady warmth. Elnora holds it above a point for a few minutes, and the room smells lightly of smoke while she does. If the warmth is ever too much, tell her and she moves it away.
Who usually comes
People who like warmth on a cold, tight shoulder or back
People who are sensitive to firm pressure
People who want an add-on that is quiet and slow

A visit
What a visit is like, in order
- 01
Step 1: We talk
About how you do with warmth and with smoke.
- 02
Step 2: Warmth is placed
Mugwort is held near a point, a few inches above the skin.
- 03
Step 3: You rest
A few minutes of steady warmth. Say so at once if it is too much.
- 04
Step 4: It is put out
Each stick is put out fully before the next step, and we tell you what to expect afterward.
Good to know
Before and after
What you may feel afterward
Skin near the point can look a little pink for a short time. The room may smell of smoke for a while, and your clothes might too.
Tell us first
Asthma or a sensitivity to smoke, pregnancy, skin that is numb or easily burned, and any fear of heat. We can skip moxibustion or use a lighter version.
How many visits
Elnora suggests how often as a starting point, not a promise, and results vary.
What it does not do, and when to see a doctor
It does not replace your doctor or your medicine. See a doctor first for sudden, severe pain, chest pain, new weakness or numbness, a high fever, or loss of bladder or bowel control. In an emergency, call 911.
